Description:
- Ram Lila is a re-enactment of the life of Lord Rama on stage, and is based upon the 'Ram Charita Manas', a mythological work written by the ancient Indian scholar Tulsidas. It tells Rama's story over the course of the nine days of the Navratri Festival. Performers wear extensive jewellery, masks, make-up, rich costumes ,and decorative head-gear to look their parts, and the stage settings are extravagantly royal. The dialogue is in verse form, and is sung to music - it makes for an unforgettable Indian cultural experience.
