Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart

Description:

  • Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart dates back to the early 1930s, and is one of the best Catholic churches in India. It was designed by the famous architect Henry Medd, who built the Cathedral Church of the Redemption for the Anglicans. This Catholic cathedral has a distinctive Italian touch to it. The pristine white pillars against a dark brick background look gorgeous and the interiors are lavish and royal. The Christmas festivities in the church are widely attended, the most notable of them being the "Feast of the Holy Family of Nazareth." The Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart is one of the most prominent pieces of architecture near Connaught Place.
