Mimi's in the Marigny

Description:

• It looks and feels a bit like an L.A. club impresario's idea of a Marigny bar (that is, very clean, perfectly lit, not out of place in a New York hipster hotel that wanted a New Orleans-themed club). Then again, it's also what everyone wished would exist in the Marigny, a well-thought-out version of the (slightly divey, even if we do love it) R Bar. Having said that, for all the trends on parade (dreads, funny hats, and some attitude), the bar and employees are welcoming. And if you find our favorite New Orleans bars too shabby and run-down for comfort, we won't mind if you spend your time here.
