    • Whiskey Blue - New Orleans

      • Walk through the lobby of the posh W Hotel in New Orlean's CBD and you'll find yourself headed for Whiskey Blue.  Bathed in glowing blue light, Whiskey Blue has a hip, L.A.-style vibe.  This is the place to go when you want to dress nice and enjoy a high-end cocktail.  The bar offers plenty of seating, or you can wander back through the lobby to the private room underneath the stairs for a more intimate setting.  On Saturday nights, a live DJ plays chill but danceable beats, but no matter what night of the week you go, the music will put you in the mood to relax and have fun.

  • The fun in New Orleans doesn't stop when the sun goes down. That's when most of the fun starts - at the city's many bars, clubs, lounges and live music venues. The Dragon's Den, with pillows on the floor for lounging, is transformed after dark into one of the funkiest jazz places in the city. The Saturn Bar is among the hipster set's most beloved dives. Donna's has become one of the top spots for great local music, including the revival of the brass-band experience and a variety of jazz and blues traditions. Mimi's in the Marigny looks and feels a bit like an L.A. club impresario's idea of a Marigny bar (that is, very clean, perfectly lit and a spot that would not be out of place in a New York hipster hotel that wanted a New Orleans-themed club). New Orleans at night is not New Orleans during the day, and not to take advantage of it is to miss out.
