This longtime B&B (formerly the Old Victorian Inn, and before that, PJ Holbrook's Old Victorian Inn -- and at some point before that, possibly a brothel!) has benefited from some spiffing up by the most recent owners, though longtime clients will recognize many of the furnishings. Set around a mossy brick courtyard, it feels very New Orleans, again in a manner that seems to be disappearing from the city. All rooms have queen beds, antiques, elaborate comforters, and deep dark wood floors. There are claw-foot tubs in all but the Somerset room, the smallest accommodation -- it's quite wee. The yellow Gentilly room has a romantic balcony overlooking Rampart, and a nice bathroom. Breakfast is simple, but we do like the collection of NOLA-related movies.
