Description:
While we have strong feelings indeed about staying in more New Orleans-appropriate, site-specific accommodations, we cheerfully admit that this is one fun hotel, and what is New Orleans about if not fun? There are certainly no more-playful rooms in town, done up as they are in black, plum and white -- frosty chic, to be sure, but oh, so comfortable, thanks to feather everything (pillows, comforters, beds -- and yes, allergy sufferers, they have foam alternatives). There are nifty amenities and gewgaws galore; suites offer little different from the rooms except more space and, indeed, more of everything (two TVs, two DVD players, two bathrooms, one Ouija board). Not all rooms have views, but the ones that do, especially those of the river, are outstanding. The ultrachic bar was designed by hip bar/club owner Rande "Mr. Cindy Crawford" Gerber. We do wish this whole experience wasn't so, well, New York, but then again, we find ourselves having so much fun, it's kinda hard to get all that worked up about it.

Just spent three days at this hotel in a suite. While the staff and the lobby were nice, the rooms are not. Seems like everything in the rooms is slowly falling apart and they haven't...

Loved it

I'm not accustomed to W hotels, so I'm not sure if some of the reviewers are right about this not being up to par, but as someone who enjoys luxury hotels, I had no complaints....

Message from W New Orleans
What's the word for W New Orleans? Spicy. W New Orleans is conveniently located near the river , just steps from the notorious French Quarter but in a quieter location for a peaceful night's rest. W New Orleans is close to shopping, Harrah's Casino and the Warehouse District. Eat. Drink. And be merry. Legendary restaurants, incredible jazz and the best of New Orleans's notorious nightlife surround you. The Ernest Morial Convention Center is also within walking distance of the hotel. Let lounge impresario Rande Gerber put his voodoo on you at Whiskey Blue . Or fall under the spell of flavor at foodie's delight Zoe, where Louisiana comfort foods meet contemporary cuisine. When times get too hot, cool off in a poolside cabana. It's time to have fun. And W New Orleans is the perfect place to start. Why would you want to be anywhere but here?
