    • This modest neighborhood joint is a short cab ride away from the French Quarter. Friendly and funky, it serves tasty, solid (if not spectacular) food. It feels like a true local find -- because it is -- and can be a welcome break from the scene in the Quarter or from more intense dining. Try to get a table in the pretty courtyard or on the balcony overlooking it (particularly delightful on a balmy night), though the dining rooms are perfectly pleasant. Luckily, the courtyard wasn't much affected by Katrina -- "The plants are beautiful. I don't know how they do it!" said one admirer. The ambience is even better when the piano bar is up and running (call ahead to see). A typical visit produces oysters en brochette, pâté de maison, seafood-stuffed eggplant (shrimp, crabmeat, and crawfish tails in a casserole with spicy sausage and crisp fried eggplant), and a chocolate-mousse/peanut-butter pie for dessert.

      One of the best courtyard dinning places in town.

    • Get out of the French Quarter! The Marigny and Bywater have great places where the locals hang out. Feelings is one of those places. Good food, good service, good vibe.

      Great ambiance, OK food

    • WEnt out for a celebration dinner here. Cool ambiance, off the beaten path. Great feel to it. Food not as good as I would have hoped, but the service was good and prices reasonable.
