Description:
- There are overnight accommodations for those that want to get close to nature and those that enjoy a few "creature comforts" with their outdoor experience. The 19 two-bedroom cabins sleep up to eight guests each, and include full kitchen and bathroom facilities and a back deck with a picnic table and primitive-style grill. Many of the 55 campsites feature a lakefront view, and all are equipped with water and electrical hookups. Five tent sites are located on one of the bluffs overlooking the water, and offer a spectacular view for that early morning wakeup. During the warmer months, overnight guests can wade or swim out into the water at the park's RV beach area. The comfort station nearby also provides a place to shower off and do a couple of loads of laundry. The avid fisher can set out onto the reservoir at the two-lane boat ramp area. With nearly 300 square miles of water to cruise, that "big catch" is sure to be waiting out there. Afterwards, a cleaning station conveniently located near the boat ramp provides an area to clean and prepare the fish caught during a great day on the lake. Whether that weekend (or week-long) getaway involves fishing or not, South Toledo Bend State Park is a great place to enjoy time with family or friends in the Great Outdoors.
