- For those who didn't get it yet; 1 OAK simply spells out to One Of A Kind. Not only is the name unique but the bar as well as it blends exclusivity with a kind of egalitarianism. It claims to be for everyone but it secretly caters to a certain incredibly urban section of people more commonly called actors and models. The dimly lit interiors add to the charade that is tempered with elegance; the space small and on certain nights, 1 OAK is packed to perfection. The DJ plays a varied set nightly and the drinks are as expensive as can be expected. There is ofcourse a dress code; ladies in stilettos and the men metrosexual. Jeans and a tee would be allowed only if outrageously expensive. Representing all that is New York, 1 OAK is the place to be; if you get in that is.
