  • NileGuide Expert Says:

There are private bathrooms in every room (in contrast to some other cheaper hotel options) and the Ace Hotel is pet-friendly.

  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Beware: it's a rowdy bar with lots of young professionals drinking and mingling every night.

    Description:

    • Located in the Flatiron District, the trendy Ace Hotel (opened in 2009) is the first East Coast offering by the Seattle-based brand; you'll find other Aces in Seattle, Portland and Palm Springs. The hotel's off-beat design and laid-back feel caters to rock stars and other super-cool types, and the smaller size of the rooms make it ideal for single travelers rather than families with kids. The rooms come in a range of sizes and prices; some look more like apartments, complete with full-size refrigerators and guitars propped in the corner. The hotel's lobby, conceived as a "living room" for the neighborhood, is perennially packed with hotel guests and New Yorkers alike, all taking advantages of the great food, drink and shopping destinations located in the hotel (not to mention the free Wi-Fi). The Ace is home to The Breslin, a new gastropub from the people behind West Village hotspot The Spotted Pig, as well as an outpost of Portland's Stumptown Coffee Roasters and a branch of the boutique Opening Ceremony.
