- In existence since 1904, the Portland Square near Times Square definitely has character. It is a favorite of many actors and countless theater goers for providing comfortable rooms and decent service in the Theater District. It does not have a restaurant or room service, but "Restaurant Row" is almost at its front door. Students and visitors on a budget will love this place, as they have in previous generations. All rooms have an in-room safe, as well as voice mail service.
