The corner duplex is the creation Stephanie Monserrat-Laurent & Architect Felipe Protti. The comely commander of the kitchen is Stephanie Monserrat-Laurent, who has combined her French childhood kitchen experiences with amazing Brazilian flair. Yellowtail ceviche, folded with julienne hearts of palm, is redolent of cilantro & sorrel, tuna tartare takes on lush complexity when blended with diced foie gras & sesame seeds in a reduction of molasses & cachaça. Foie gras also perfumes the farofa--toasted manioc flour--used to punch up pink bean soup. Pupunha carpaccio, thinly sliced fresh hearts of palm & micro arugula to form a bed for sauteed sea scallops anointed with honey-hazelnut vinaigrette. Holding the attention of thirsty guests are signature cocktails named for cultural icons of Brazil, including Doña Flor.
