• Candela Candela lights up the candles for an ambient glow in the East Village along Second Avenue. The gracious hosts welcome patrons, but the slow service can put one on edge. Where's the food already? Depending on what is ordered the food is either great (try some of the tapas options and the ceviche) or a little disappointing (forget the pasta). Perhaps it's the problem of fusing two distinct cuisines. Plus the sometimes super cheap mojitos help one endure the wait. The atmosphere is incredibly romantic and great for a date. Brunch and lunch are also served.
