Description:
- Owned by celebrity chef Mario Batali, along with Joseph Bastianich and Lidia Bastianich, Del Posto is the most over-the-top and elegant of his many restaurants. This temple to fine Italian dining covers 24,000 square feet of space on the Chelsea-Meatpacking District border, and resembles a luxurious Italian palazzo. Del Posto combines extremely attentive service with an extensive wine selection and carefully curated food that is as elegant as it is excessive. The chef is Mark Ladner, who previously worked at the more casual trattoria Lupa (also partly owned by Batali and Joe Bastianich). In 2010, Del Posto became the first Italian restaurant since 1974 to receive the coveted four-star rating from the New York Times.
