- A casual, fine French restaurant run by the students of the French Culinary Institute, L'Ecole serves a four (sometimes five) course prix fixe feast that is often as good as the city's most expensive meals. Even better, the other perks of this restaurant include seating for a large crowd, and the staff is earnest and passionate. The menu changes constantly, so it is always worth returning. The school is headed by retired celebrity chefs Andre Soltner and Jacques Pepin, among others.
