• After finding immense success with 34 restaurants in Japan, Shigemi Kawahara (a.k.a. the Ramen King) decided to open up a New York City store. Every Ippudo location has its own original ramen type, and New York is no exception. The ultra-hip décor is original and modern, with ramen bowls attached to one of the walls, and dried bricks of ramen noodles beneath the glass-topped bar. Try the ramen, of course, and the pork belly. You may pay more here than you might at other ramen joints, but the atmosphere and the full bar can help you forget it!
