Description:

  • The restaurant Metisse, which is located within the heartland of Columbia University, sports the quaint décor of a French country kitchen but offers a menu which features a bizarre combination of Brazilian and French cuisines. There is an explanation for this, however, as the word Metisse itself means "mixed race", hence the restaurant tries to showcase the cuisines of the countries from which its principal chefs hail. Accordingly, the menu at Metisse offers you a choice of French or Brazilian delights for your meal, featuring classic French dishes like Coq au Vin and Ragout d'Agneau alongside the Brazilian national dish of rice and beans, the Feijoda, and the popular favorite Strogonoff de Frango, amongst others .
