- The Doyers Street is aptly called The Bloody Angle because of its chaotic past. This street has a sharp corner and hence the 'Angle'. Many violent shoot-outs, gang fights, street battles have taken place here. It is an ideal street, as most of the buildings are connected via underground passageways, called tunnels. The street begins at Pell, goes through Chatham Square and the Bowery. The angle today is the site of a post office and a few restaurants, and the tunnel is a shopping arcade.
