User Review:
- This bi-state National Park offers an unexpected bit of wilderness in the middle of the country's largest urban metropolis. Within sight of Manhattan's skyscrapers, nature trails and boat tours of Jamaica Bay explore a wildlife preserve full of an amazing array of bird and marine life. Other parts of the Gateway park include miles of gorgeous public beaches in Queens, Staten Island, and New Jersey -- so much beach that you can always find an uncrowded spot. Many parts of the Gateway National Recreation area are accessible by public transportation. Check www.mta.info (for Queens and Staten Island) or www.njtransit.com (for New Jersey). A wide range of activities are available here.
