Macombs Dam Park - New York City

  • Description:

    • Macombs Dam Park was opened in 1899 when Bronx was mostly full of farms. The park is spread over 28 acres and includes fields for football, soccer, baseball and a basket ball court too. When the park started, all it had were swings, slides, see-saws and sand boxes for different age groups. It became even more accessible in 1923 when the Yankee Stadium came-up next to it and became home to the Bronx heroes. The Babe Ruth Memorial Stadium nearby, further added to the facilities available at Macombs Dam Park.
