Description:
- One of nature's treasures is the Hudson Valley in upstate New York. During the fall season, the trees turn vibrant shades of yellow, orange and red.
Experience a fabulous trip up through the Hudson Valley and get a peek at the spectacular fall foliage! See the George Washington Bridge and the 550-foot-high Palisades along the Hudson River. Travel through luxuriant foliage, suddenly awash in yellows, oranges and reds on your way to the Lookout Inn - the highest point along the Palisades. Since 1937, this refreshment stand has greeted visitors with spectacular views across Westchester County to Long Island Sound.
You will pass the historic Bear Mountain, which once was site of the premier ski jump in the U.S. Then, head past the Bear Mountain Bridge, the first bridge across the Hudson between New York and Albany.
Just past the site of the Revolutionary War Battle of Fort Montgomery and located on the western bank of the Hudson River is West Point, America's oldest military academy. All of the central campus is a national landmark and home to numerous historic sites, buildings, and monuments.
