Strawberry Fields - New York City

  • Description:

    • Beatles' song "Strawberry Fields Forever" is the inspiration behind this place that was dedicated to John Lennon. Lennon along with his wife Yoko Ono were frequent visitors to this area in Central Park. On the eighth of December every year, a large section of people turn up to mark their respect for the most celebrated musician of all times. The 2.5 acre area was donated by Lennon's widow Yoko Ono. It was dedicated by Mayor Edward Koch in the year 1985. A Mecca of sorts for all Lennon fans, it is a must visit for all those visiting Central Park to see the place where Lennon spent quality time in his last days.
