The Lower East Side Conservancy is an educational organization established in 1998. Our mission is to celebrate, preserve & share the Jewish heritage of the Lower East side, Harlem, Brooklyn & soon Philadelphia. We accomplish our mission by creating & giving tours of these living and vital communities. Our tours are designed to showcase landmarks, history & people and to inspire visitors of all ages and faiths. Each of our tour guides has been certified by published historians. Join us for one of our 90 minute set tours or call and design your own tour! We will gladly arrange private customized tours for all kinds of groups - families, synagogues, schools, Religious, or women's organizations. Learn where your great grandparents may have lived, walk on historic streets, enter sacred sites, and get a sense of how people actually lived back then. Celebrate NYC history with the LESJC!
