5195 Magdalen St, Niagara Falls, ON, Canada
NileGuide Expert tip:
This is a hotel for the discerning adult. It is far enough away from the Falls to avoid the crowds and noise, but near enough to reach in a short walk.
Don't let the funny milk bottle throw you off. This contemporary boutique hotel, the only boutique hotel in Niagara Falls, and for my money, the best, used to be a dairy and the owners decided to keep the iconic milk bottle. The exterior of the Sterling is deceptively bland - grey walls with red accents - but the interior is sleek, cool and sophisticated. Rooms are spacious, with polished hardwood floors, leather chairs and couches and superior beds ( king or two Queen beds) on a raised platform. Cream walls and dark trim are brightened with punches of red. The bathrooms are big and luxurious. Large walk-in showers have rain shower heads and body jets, and some have steam units that will turn the shower into a personal sauna. All rooms have fireplaces. Best of all, breakfast is delivered to your room as part of your room fee. The hotel also has a full service spa, a cozy bar, and one of the best dining rooms in the city, AG, where chef Cory Linkson serves up locally-inspired dishes, paired with the best of Niagara wines.
