- Still providing first run motion pictures, this classic neighborhood theater The current Palace Theatre opened on January 14, 1926. The theatre, built by George J. Biehler, was designed to be state-of-the-art. The opening night program included: The feature film "His Secretary" A cartoon Pathe News A Hal Roach comedy Music was furnished by a ten piece orchestra. The Pathe company opened offices in Buffalo, NY in 1914 and had a business relationship with Mitchel Mark, owner of the world's first permanent movie theater: The Vitascope Theater which stood in Buffalo from 1896-1898.
