- Designed by Charles Dickinson, The Palace opened its doors on July 18, 1925 to more than 2,000 guests for the showing of the silent film "The Ten Commandments." It is reputed to be a near duplicate of the Paramount Theater that stood at the corner of 43rd & Broadway in New York City. The theater still shows motion pictures on a regular basis as well as amateur, community based theater productions of varying quality. The interior of the theater is in need of restoration, but is still a wonderful place to visit.
