Best of Niagara Falls and Niagara On the Lake

Description:

The Niagara Region, which encompasses 12 different cities, could be explored for days on end, but most people just end up staying in the Region for 2 to 3 days, and stick to one or two of the more popular cities-mainly Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake, so that is what this guide is focusing on.There really is something for everyone in Niagara, depending on your taste. You could spend your days hiking or people watching on Clifton Hill; strolling through wineries, or winning big at the casino; learning the history of the area or tracing the path of the underground railroad. There could be specific guides designed with all these interests in mind, but this guide focuses on the "Best of" Niagara. The first day, all the activities are centered in Niagara Falls. Because of the location of the Marriott, you can pretty much walk to everything with the exception of the Butterfly Conservatory. Casino Niagara and Clifton Hill are great places to wander around and people watch. If you want to do all the attractions, it can get quite pricey, so you might want to consider purchasing a discounted attraction pass from Niagara Parks. The second day focuses more on Niagara on the Lake. You could easily spend an entire day here, wandering in and out of all the shops and eating ice cream. At night, if theatre in your thing, the Shaw Festival is perfect, if not, try a ghost tour at Fort George. If the weather is nice, take a jet boat ride, which lets you see the Niagara River from a totally different perspective. The last day is a perfect day to go hiking in the Niagara Glen (weather permitting). You can hike for hours and get up close to the rapids in the Niagara River, and wave to the jet boats as they pass. Once you get back to civilization, you can check out a movie at the IMAX theatre, and then go for drinks, dinner and dancing at the Spicy Olive (they almost always have a great live band).
