Description:
Named in the 1950s after its founder, Camille, a Niçoise patriot (who preferred the Italian version of his name), this nine-table restaurant promises (and delivers) some of Nice's most authentic Provençal food. Just off cours Saleya, the dining room is adorned with pleasant, light colors and modern paintings, many of which are for sale. The menu changes with the seasons, as supervised by owner Stéphane Viano, but can include jumbo shrimp flambéed with pastis and served with deliberately undercooked vegetables; risottos with vegetables from the vendors of the nearby cours Saleya; filet of John Dory served with a confit of tomatoes and artichokes; and standing roasted rack of lamb served with Provençal herbs and Parmesan-dusted zucchini.
