Palais de la Méditerranée

Description:

  • Strolling along the Promenade des Anglais, one of the places you're likely to pass is the magnificent former Palais de la Méditerranée, renowned as an art deco masterpiece. Made of enormous pieces of cut white stone, the impressive façade is adorned with two bas-reliefs which are typically art deco. Built in 1929 by talented architect Charles Dalmas, the façade (now listed) is unfortunately all that remains of this building in which shows, festivals and games once took place - the rest has since been knocked down.
