- Why buy an umbrella in a place where the sun shines constantly? It might seem an unusual thing to do, but the tiny 'Parapluies Bestagno' shop in Vieux-Nice, with the rather old-fashioned charm of its facade, ought to encourage you to do so. In fact, you'll find all sorts of umbrellas; the shop is crammed full of them. From the smallest, telescopic kind - the last word in umbrella technology (made of hard-wearing, extremely light materials) - to the biggest, big enough for two to shelter under on a romantic walk together, from the most stylish of umbrellas to the most eccentric. They even have one made out of fabric with a reproduction of one of Renoir's paintings entitled 'Les Parapluies' on it! This really is an exceptional shop and there should be more like it.
