Description:

  • Part of a state park, this centrally-located lake is surrounded by tall oak trees. It is about an hour's drive from the city, just east of Norman. In addition to activities like boating, swimming and water skiing, Thunderbird has facilities for camping and picnicking. The lake is stocked with fish, predominately bass and catfish. The grounds have areas for archery and for hunting all kinds of game, including deer, rabbit and squirrel and several kinds of waterfowl.
