Oleta River Canoe Trail - North Miami

  • Description:

    • The park offers a 3.8 mile canoe trail that meanders along the Oleta River through one of South Florida's largest mangrove forests. This is a quiet and relaxing paddle offering wondering bird watching opportunities especially in winter. You can expect to see herons, ibises, roseate spoonbills, kingfishers, and ospreys. You might also be treated to sights of the West Indian manatees or bottle-nosed dolphins. A cartop boat launch is located near the northwest corner of the huge parking area. Directions: Travel east along State Route 826 for one mile to reach the park entrance. Travel the main park road to the huge parking lot. The canoe launch is located near the northwest corner.
