Description:
- At 1,043 acres, Oleta River State Park is the largest urban park in the state. Located on Biscayne Bay in northeast Dade County, the most prominent natural feature of the park is the Oleta River, for which the park is named. Today, the Oleta River no longer flows north into the Everglades but its beauty and splendor lives on. Water birds feed along the mangrove-lined shoreline and the endangered West Indian manatee finds refuge from South Florida's crowded waterways.
Visitors have a wide choice of outdoor recreations including sunbathing, fishing, mountain biking, hiking, picnicking, swimming, and canoeing.
Oleta River State Recreation Area is located off U.S. Highway 1 in North Miami.
