    • The park's 4,000 square foot nature center, contains exhibits, displays and a video interpreting the barrier island's plant and animal communities. Programs are given to adult and school groups, as well as the general public, on a broad range of natural history subjects. Program themes include Nature Walks, Families Understanding Nature, Music in the Park, Earth Day, Guided Snorkeling, and more. Just outside the Nature Center, a wonderful circular path weaves around a butterfly garden with plants such as lantana and necklace pod. Here, visitors can spot swallowtails and zebra longwings. Adjacent is the park's amphitheater, a picnic area and a 1,600-foot boardwalk providing access to the Atlantic.
