Description:

  • An idyllic way to spend a lazy afternoon in Hanover is to drift along the Connecticut River in a canoe, assuming you know how to paddle one safely. Dartmouth's historic boating club is just down the hill from the campus. While much of the club's focus is on competitive racing, it's also a place where travelers can rent a boat for a few hours and explore the tree-lined river. Instruction is also available. Life jackets must be carried at all times, and worn by children and non-swimmers.
