- Schauspielhaus - Staatstheater Nürnberg (Playhouse at Nuremberg State Theater) was built in 1959 adjacent to the opulent Opera House of the Nuremberg State Theater. With around 550 seats in the main theater and 250 in the smaller rooms, it is a much more intimate setting than its sister theater. Since its construction, the Playhouse Theater has housed hundreds of performances, including notable productions of Johann von Goethe's Faust I and Georg Büchner's Dantons Tod. For those who seek the less traditional performances, be sure to check out the late-night galas in the theaters' foyer, or visit the so-called "Breakfast Theater" on Sunday mornings.
