Maili Beach Park

• Located about 90 minutes from Honolulu, this large leeward shoreline park is a wonderful sunny area for picnics, swimming, surfing and more. Lots of parking along with restrooms, lifeguards, picnic tables and showers, this beach attracts area locals for weekend picnicking, parties and other outdoor events. The winter brings harsh strong surf which is not recommended for novice swimmers and surfers. However, the summer brings a wide, soft sandy shoreline and great swimming in some areas. The drop-off is quite sudden along most of the beach park, so it's not a good spot for wading or children. - Lottie Tagupa
