• Type: Beaches
  • NileGuide Expert tip:

If you head slightly to the east end of the beach you may find it a little less crowded than the center.

  • Description:

    • The famous Sunset Beach lives up to its reputation. The crescent shaped beach is quite long and covered in fine white wonderful sand. This is an ideal place to come and watch the sunset, whether its after a long day in the sun or a sunset stop.

The beach is widely known for its heavy, huge, and dangerous surf break. The waves here are world class, the reason it's a stop on the Triple Crown of Surfing tour. Professional surfers and amateurs who can handle the intense wave put Sunset on the top of their list for catching waves.

Parking here can get a little crowded, so you may have to park across the street at the beach park. Sunset Beach is quite long, and continues on until it changes into other beaches. If the waves are big, which they most likely are if its the winter season, stay out of the water! During the summer here the waves are usually small and it's wonderful for swimming and sunning. During the winter it's really fun just to come watch the surfers, and maybe even be on time for a contest where the best in the surf world compete against each other.
