  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Enjoy Waimea starting at 9 a.m. to avoid crowds. It will most likely be sunny and hot at this time.

  • Description:

    • Possibly the most famous Oahu beach, Waimea Bay is known world wide with surfers for its huge perfect waves, and with visitors and locals for its spectacular white sand generally blocked from the wind in a cove leading back to a sacred valley. Waimea Bay is a must go to beach, and apparently, most other people think that too. It's tough to find an empty day at Waimea - in the summer people are there for the serene waters, and in the winter people are there for the huge surf.

Waimea Bay is worth anyone's trip to the North Shore, whether it's for Waimea alone for part of a day trip out north. You'll find full amenities here, lifeguards who pay great attention to the choices of the visitors, bathrooms, showers, and a grassy lawn. Look at the west end of the beach for the "Jumping Rock, " where everyone has fun launching off, but do so with care.
