• A shallow, 195-acre lake in downtown Oakland lies in the heart of Oakland. Close to the Piedmont neighborhood, the Lake Merritt area is home to a story book children's park, Children's Fairyland, a farmer's market every Saturday, parks, playgrounds, a boating center and more.
