For those who want a night on the town while visiting Omaha, there are many great bars, music venues and theaters to check out.
Old Market, a historic district in downtown Omaha, has many great bars and pubs within close proximity of each other. Check out The Upstream Brewing Company, which has billiard tables and $2 microbrews on Wednesday nights.
If you like indie and alternative music, check out music venues such as Slowdown, Sokol Auditorium and the Waiting Room. The Saddle Creek record label is in Omaha, which represents bands including Bright Eyes, Cursive and The Faint. Bands such as these (which are part of the "Omaha Sound") play frequently at these places, so be sure to check performance schedules ahead of time.
At the Omaha Community Playhouse (the theater where Henry Fonda made his acting debut), there are often performances by various acting companies, including the Omaha Theater Company for Young People. Opera Omaha and the Omaha Symphony both perform at Orpheum Theater.
