- There's nothing like a home away from home... literally. Little touches like fresh-baked cookies and homemade quilts can make your accommodations ultra-cozy. Plus, you're not likely to find any Orlando bed and breakfasts on I-Drive or around Disney; such quaint abodes are usually tucked into Orlando's downtown area, where they're steps from great eats and activities (but still a close distance to all of the area's most sought-after attractions). You'll also find a wonderful collection of bed and breakfasts and inns in Mount Dora, a cute little 'All-American' town about an hour from downtown Orlando. Mount Dora's main streets are lined with cafes, cupcake bakeries, antique shops, and one-of-a-kind boutiques selling everything from pumpkin candles to frozen key lime pie on a stick. Oh, and in case you're looking out for a mountain as you drive, I'll warn you now that there aren't any mountains within miles of the area but there sure is a nice lake.
