Description:

  • Accessed from the south entrance, Wahlin Trail is a very short loop trail that offers sights of a groundwater spring that seeps from a "coquina" rock bluff. The trail begins on the far side of the parking lot amid the picnic grove. While in the area, be sure to visit Florida's seventh-largest live oak named the Fairchild Live Oak. This stately tree has a girth of 24 feet and a canopy of 156 feet. Having withstood developers, hurricanes, ship builders and plantation owners, the ancient tree flaunts 800 years of growth.

Primitive camping is located along the shores of Bulow Creek. Permits are available at Tomoka State Park.
