Japan is known for bustle more than romance but you can still find romantic things to do in Osaka if you use a little imagination. For example, enjoy an afternoon visiting Nara. Due to its past as the first permanent capital of Japan, it remains full of serene historic treasures, including some of Japan's oldest Buddhist temples. Awaji World Park Onokoro Theme Park is located on Awaji Island, in the scenic bay west of Osaka. The park itself is quite a novelty, with miniatures of famous world monuments and historical sites like the Taj Mahal. The Hep Five Ferris Wheel, named so because it is in/on the Hep Five shopping center just beside Osaka Station, rises 106 meters above the city. It's a great way to spend a few moments alone with your companion, taking in the view. It's one of the many escapes from the hustle of a city that hides its romantic things to do in unexpected places.
