- The Louis XIV-style Grand hotel in the heart of Oslo has been a favorite among visiting celebrities and dignitaries since its opening in 1874. They are often seen waving from the balcony overlooking Karl Johan street and Parliament. Nobel Peace Prize winners always stay at the Grand and the Nobel banquet takes place at the hotel's restaurant Speilen. The rooms range from comfortable standard rooms to Grand suites with a roof terrace. Shops, restaurants, cinemas, theaters, museums and the Oslo fjord is just around the corner.
