Holmenkollen/Nordmarka
Norwegians are big fans of the outdoors, and Holmenkollen/Nordmarka is a very popular recreational area. Locals love to go hiking or cross crountry skiing in Nordmarka (meaning Northern forest); it seems the whole town is here on Sundays. This is also where one of Oslo's major attractions, Holmenkollen ski jump, is located. (It's presently closed as Oslo is rebuilding it for the 2011 FIS World Cup Nordic).Attractions
