  • If you're visiting Ottawa for the first time, you will probably find that there are more things to do than you will have time for. You can't skip Parliament Hill, as it is a symbol of Canada and is a fascinating place. But there's much more to Ottawa than politics. Check out the art collection at the stunning National Gallery of Canada, browse for food and fashions in the historic Byward Market, and explore the Rideau Canal by boat or on skates. You can also explore one of our many museums, particularly the Canadian Museum of Civilization or the Canada Science and Technology Museum. Or check out one of our seasonal festivals. For example Winterlude is the most fun you can have in Ottawa in February, while the Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest is a popular summertime blues celebration. Nature lovers will appreciate Gatineau Park, a wonderful place for hiking or driving, particularly in the autumn.
