Though the great cities of the world may impress you with their sophistication, Ottawa charms you with its natural beauty. Other capitals may overwhelm you with their massive buildings and monuments; Ottawa quietly seduces you with its graceful architecture, fine museums and simple pleasures, all walking distance from A Voyageur's Guest House, Bed and Breakfast. The Parliament Buildings, which are 20 minutes light walk from this guest house, set high on a hill overlooking the Ottawa River, are the focus of the city. Wander through the streets and stalls of the market, cruise along the city's interconnecting rivers and canals--everywhere you go you can see the soaring spire of the Peace Tower. With its acres of greenery, Ottawa has an almost parklike atmosphere in summer. In spring the gardens are ablaze with the tulips that commemorate Canada's aid to Holland during World War II. In autumn the surrounding Gatineau Hills light up with colour, and in winter Parliament Hill towers on its imposing bluffs above the frosty river like a guardian of civilization. Be prepared to enjoy a hearty two course breakfast which only gets better the longer you stay. First course is light breakfast: cereal with milk and the second course is cooked: Toasts and eggs. All served in our charming dining room. Please note, that if you have special dietary needs we will try to oblige.
