Description:
I'm not sure why this casual bistro (in a heritage house quietly set away from the most frenetic streets of ByWard Market) is called "115," because its address is no. 110. But I quibble. Lace tablecloths and a fireplace are inviting in winter, while the patio with its fountain, maple tree, and roof of trellised grapevines is an echo of sun-splashed Provence with a dash of Vermont thrown in for good measure. The seasonal menu changes weekly, but entrees usually include dependable main courses such as steak, osso buco, wine-steamed mussels, crispy duck leg confit, filet of salmon, cioppino, or grilled pork tenderloin. The weekend brunch is also a treat, but the very best deal of all is the weekday table d'hôte lunch, about C$17 (US$17/£8.50) for three courses. More than a dozen wines are available by the glass and half bottle here, as well.
