Description:
This extensively renovated hotel, near St. Giles Church and Keble College, looks like an extension of one of the ancient colleges. Originally a 13th-century hospital, it was restored in the early 17th century. In the 20th century, a modern wing was added, and in 1991 it was completely renovated and made into a first-rate hotel. This intimate old hotel is filled with hidden charms such as tiny gardens in its courtyard and on its roof terrace. In this tranquil area of Oxford, you feel like you're living at one of the colleges yourself. The rooms are individually designed but not large; each of them opens onto the private gardens.

Description:
Punting is a much-loved Oxford tradition and not as hard as people expect. Propel your flat-bottomed punt along glorious leafy backwaters as your passengers relax, and then maybe stop for a picnic on the banks of the Cherwell. For the less energetic, a chauffeured punts can be hired. There is also an electric-powered river launch, Magdalena, which departs every forty minutes from midday. Punts can be hired from 9:30a until dusk, and there is a shop on the bank selling ice cream, drinks, sandwiches and souvenirs.

Description:
The Turf is one of Oxford's oldest pubs. It is accessible only down a narrow alley, nestling up against a section of the old city wall. For trivia buffs, this was the scene of the hero's courting in Thomas Hardy's, 'Jude the Obscure'. Inside, the low-ceilinged rooms are arranged on two levels. Outside, there are rows of benches in the courtyard, which is warmed by braziers in the winter. The Turf offers a good range of beers, lagers and real ales, plus mulled wine on colder nights. Food is served from noon until 8pm.

Description:
A locally sourced restaurant specialising in that old English favourite, bangers and mash, or, to the uninitiated, sausages and mashed potato. Here is a sausage heaven, even for vegetarians and a mash paradise, even for low-carb dieters, with swede and carrot mash just one option. In a chilled out part of town, away from the touristic centre, this restaurant is a must.
